This community was created to serve households with legal guardianship of minors, including families whose children have complex medical conditions requiring close access to hospital care. Located near Dayton Children’s Hospital, priority consideration is given to these households.

Households with Legal Guardianship of Minor Children

Preference will be given to applicant households where the head, co-head, or primary applicant is the legal guardian of at least one minor child (under 18 years of age). Eligible guardians are those with court-appointed or legally recognized responsibility for the minor. This preference aims to support family stability and child development by facilitating access to affordable, secure housing.

Households with Children Who Have Complex Health Conditions Requiring Proximity to Hospital Care

An additional preference will be extended to households with at least one child experiencing a medically complex condition—defined as a chronic, ongoing, or life-threatening health condition—requiring frequent or emergency access to hospital or specialty care. These conditions may include, but are not limited to, congenital disorders, cancer, organ failure, or conditions requiring intensive outpatient therapies. The preference is intended to reduce health disparities by allowing families to live near necessary healthcare providers or medical facilities.
